Toad's Trot

The Sheldon E. Leonard Memorial Run and Walk honors a beloved coach and teacher who died September 18, 2011 at the age of 75.  “Toad” (as he was known to family and friends) was well-known for his love of all sports and for his support of the St. Louis Cardinals, Pitt Panthers, Cleveland Browns and the Mount Union Trojans.  He spent 35 years working for the Mount Union Area School District and most of his life as a coach for youth baseball.  Because Sheldon was so devoted to his wife Mary and their nine children, they organized this event to honor his dedication to the community and to raise funds for those things he loved most:  education and sports.

All proceeds raised from this event will benefit the Sheldon E. Leonard Education Scholarship and the Sheldon E. Leonard Athletic Scholarship, which will be awarded to a graduating senior.
